Checking out the bit between departure and arrival. I hope I never get there.
This is a journal more than a blog.
Very self-centred. It is written for some future me. I am not looking for a following. You may read it. Please comment, but please don't judge. I write about what interests me, concerns me, and a bit about what happens to me. I hope some of it interests or entertains you.I should probably have titled this blog "Shit Happens". Because it does.
Sometimes I quote a song or some poetry, either just because I really like it, or because it expresses something I cannot put as eloquently into my own words. Occasionally i am brave enough to publish one of my own.

Christmas
A very quiet Christmas. The quietest and possibly loneliest for years, despite having Christmas morning breakfast with my new colleagues and neighbours. But remarkably free of depression and negativity. Perhaps because I feel I am where I want to be, and I … Continue reading
Medicated for Your Protection
It says on the packet “Do not take these tablets if the seal on the pack is broken”. Once I opened the pack, I suddenly realised I had a problem.

A Ray of Hope…
I have been a little down again lately. For starters, there seems to be no progress with my arm. It is no better now than before the operation. I’d have thought that there would be some sign of improvement by … Continue reading

ODAD
I believe I may have discovered a new medical syndrome. I may even be the first person to suffer it. But probably not. Nonetheless it would be cool if it became known as Freshwater’s Syndrome. A more scientific terminology … Continue reading

Yesterday, for the first time in five years, I removed all my clothing in the presence of a woman. She was a nurse, of course. She examined me all over, even the soles of my feet, for signs of melanoma. … Continue reading
