Last night Andrew and I went out to the airfield with Smudge the dog and looked for Lyrid meteors.  I took the SLR and took a series of 30 second exposures (the longest it can do) to try my luck at capturing an image of one.  Tuesday night was supposed to be the peak time to see them with an expected rate of about 90 per hour.  We saw a few but always in a part of the sky at which the camera was not pointing.  Never mind.  A nice evening out all the same, with a thermos of hot black lemon flavoured tea.

About Uisce úr

Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done, The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun.
