If We are Lucky

It seems the Star Wars Franchise gasps on.  The latest news is “We won’t see the next episode in the Star Wars saga for about two more years, and that’s if we’re lucky. ”

If we are lucky we’ll never see another one.

Star Wars opened up a new vista for special effects and film making.  But it also bogged science fiction in cinema down so far that it is only now coming into the light once more.

Wookies, Ewoks and JarJar Binks.  For crying out loud.

Time to move on.

About Uisce úr

Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done, The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun.

Agreed. I did not mean to cast the whole lot into the pit. i was excited about it at the time. We were young then, and it opened our minds to possibilities. The franchise just failed to deliver on its initial promise.

You might be right about it in retrospect, but I will always have a soft spot for that very first film. I still remember the granduer of the opening scene in the cinema. At the time it was pretty damn good.
