Health Update

Went to the GP on Thursday.  Yet another new doctor as the others completed their compulsory country town service and headed off to more attractive locales.

BP is 146/86. My trousers are loose.  Cheerful disposition and Sunny smile all the while – thanks to BP medication, and equanimity pills.  Gotta love those equanimity pills.  I have cut out the osteopanadol for the sake of my liver, and I put up with the arthritis , which is tolerable anyway.  If it gets too bad I’ll take more , or a diclofenac or two.  My shoulder has been really good lately, but I have made a habit of sleeping with a hugging pillow to prevent me laying on it.
Dr B was impressed with the check-up, after looking through the records.  He says I am doing everything right.  He’s organised some blood tests to see how the liver and kidneys are holding up.

Looks like I could make it past 65 after all.

About Uisce úr

Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done, The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun.

I wonder if a certain brace of “ladies” of the two wheeled variety may also have a part to play me old mate. Nothing like getting your leg across on a regular basis to calm the blood and ease the mind…

I agree with TR that I still feel 18 until I get a reminder from the knees. But as I recall, I was so much older then. I am younger than that now.

  2. I’ll be 65 on the 10th… Getting old is no fun… I’ve been on BP meds since I was 31. Youth IS waisted on the young… There are some good things about getting old but not many…

Many Happy Returns for the Tenth TR! I must say that growing old is not quite what I expected, but I am finding one or two advantages, and making the best of them if I can.
