Motorcycles Across Australia, The Movie

I spent the whole of ANZAC day compiling a 55 minute movie of the video clips and photos from the trip. Saved every few minutes , as Dave suggested. All complete and about to finish when the software crashed. Every time I reload the project it crashes again. A day wasted. Thanks Microsoft.

A few days later and three more crashes strained even my saintly patience. But finally at 2am I managed to save a 33 minute version.

Never mind.  I had to wait until off peak to upload it, anyway. I have used up my peak data allowance

The Redux will have to wait until I am independently wealthy and can afford an IMac.

This movie makes Lawrence of Arabia look like an Epic.

About Uisce úr

Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done, The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun.

I still have 29,000k to go I subtracted from the wrong cardinal. Sticking to the main roads is a lot less of course.

  2. Wow, I so want to ride in Oz. I would love to ride the perimeter of Australia… That’s about 10,000 miles. I’m not sure my buddies can swing paying for it though. The video brought back so many memories of when I lived there and fanned the flames of my dream to ride there. Thanks for the post.

Thanks ! To ride around Australia is actually 35900Km (if you follow the coast) or 22300 miles. I still have 16000k to go! I hope to do another chunk of it in a year or so.. Eventually, with luck I will complete the circuit. Stay in touch if you do come over here. Good luck with the dream!

      • If I ever do come over I will consult with you on things to do and not do… not do being more important. I know riding in Oz is a lot like riding in remote parts of Texas and U.S. and you need to be prepared. Someone missinformed me about the distance. That is a looong way around.. Thanks…
