Cleaning Up

After the ride to and back from Perth on Friday, I slept in until 11 on Saturday.  Then I had a good weekend breakfast of eggs and bacon – or of bacon and eggs – depending on where one hails from.

At about 1130 I sat on the director’s chair at my back door with my coffee contemplating the very dirty bike awaiting a clean up.

At about 3 pm I awoke, and realising I was not going to get the bike clean that day.   I went to bed.

Sunday morning looked more promising.  This time, after muesli and coffee, I actually started on the bike.  After four and a half hours of spraying, scrubbing, rinsing rubbing, polishing, brushing and buffing, I decided I was fairly satisfied and took her for a ride to Police Pools and back around town.

I stopped in at the Blue Diner, where I bought an excellent burger, and sat chatting with Ron and Leanne while I ate it.   Then home again.

Monday I did the laundry and housework, took a short ride to police pools again for a walk, then home and skyped my girls.  They are broke again.  The car has a dead battery, and also needs a warrant. So I went online, increased my credit limit with the bank, and sent them enough to tide them over.  It won’t take me long to catch up.  Were it not for the trip,  I’d have no need for a bigger credit limit.

A couple of months and I will be saving for a new bike.   One must have goals.

About Uisce úr

Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done, The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun.
