Motorcycle Diary Part 2

Day Zero

The bikes arrive while we are having breakfast down the road.  Jaimie’s has a flat battery.  Back to the MCAS for a new one.  I get the new highway pegs I ordered in yesterday.

Ready to go.

Riding Day 1 – Sydney to Batemans Bay

Day 2  Batemans Bay to Cooma via Canberra

Day 3  We were going to go around the Snowy Mountains loop  but the weather was inclement in the extreme, and the road can be dangerous even when dry and fine. so instead we did some looping through the forests on our way to Orbost Via Eden.

Day 4 Orbost to Coal Creek..

Day 5  Philip Island and on to Torquay via the Sorrento – Queenscliff Ferry

Day 6 Torquay to Warrnambool Via Apollo Bay

Day 7 Warrnambool to Robe  At Millicent, I lost the others. They went via the coast and Beachport, I went inland via Thornlea.

Day 8:   Robe to Adelaide via the free river ferry at Wellington. I then went through Mt Barkerand the others went another way.  By the time I had finished programming my GPS, they were gone, and I went the wrong way again. But I had the better ride, along the highland valley to Mt Barker. Just as I joined the freeway past Mt Barker, guess who came along?

Day 9:   Today we had some nice winding roads in the Adelaide hills, to Birdswood and back via Mount Lofty.

The days travelling are passing so fast, and the evenings are taken up with meals and showers and sleep. The ride is tiring, and at the end of the day there is so little time to relate tales of the trip. After a day or two it all blurs into a whirl of riding and sightseeing. Having a great time, wish you were here!
