Shire colleagues today shouted morning tea and took me out to lunch in honour of my birthday.  That is pretty cool coming from a country in which the birthday person is expected to shout.   I had to wear a silly hat at morning tea.  The Birthday Hat.  A lavender stetson covered with silver bling.  That is the tradition here.   And a jolly nice one it is.  I gave a very short impromptu speech thanking everyone, and saying that I have been happier here in Katanning than I have been for some time.  And I meant it.

About Uisce úr

Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done, The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun.
