Beans

I have just harvested my first crop of dwarf butter beans.  There is nothing quite so satisfying as toiling in the fields all day and then dining in the evening on the bounteous generosity of nature and the product of the sweat of ones brow.  Or, in this case there is nothing quite like picking a handful of beans after work from plants growing in an old tyre filled with compost, and then cooking and eating them.  With steak and mashed potatoes.

About Uisce úr

Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done, The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun.

On the other hand, I estimate that the beans cost about $30 a Kg. It would be more economical to buy them, than grow them.
