On the weekend my new friend and temporary boarder, Tim and I set out to visit Wave Rock. We were surprised to discover it was less than three hours pleasant drive away from Katanning. Tim set up his Garmin GPS and we compared its efforts with that of Lara. For the most part they both agreed with each other. Though Garmin did get lost for a spell during which Lara stayed on the ball.
All up the Garmin seems more user friendly than the Strike, though Lara has the advantage of being weather proof and therefore better for the bike.
Wave rock is an interesting place to visit, and photograph. It will be good to do the trip again on a bike sometime. We also visited Mulka’s cave, which is about 15 minutes from Wave Rock. This is a cave, under a granite rock, that has been used for tens of thousands of years by the Noongar people, and which has a huge number of cave paintings, mostly stencils or prints of hands.
We did a bit of hollowlogging, and I let Eric the Chicken do some exploring. He has not been out on a photography jaunt for a long time.
