During some random browsing this morning, pursuing links that caught my eye, I discovered something about the O’Briens, my grandmother’s family.  She was from a poor and I assume landless class, except for a small holding of some sort that I tried to locate when I visited Ireland, so I guess this must be the side of the family that sold out?

O’Brien Dynasty

Very wise in my view. Why lose everything over superstition?

I never realised that Guy Fawkes was a Catholic. How did that escape me?  or maybe I did, and forgot it… That happens these days.  Very good when re-reading novels.

Fascinating.  Wikipedia is great.

So is YouTube:  Lord Inchiquin

About Uisce úr

Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done, The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun.
