I have just learned that Monday is a holiday in Fiji.  The Prophet Mohammed’s birthday. That’s cool.  God bless a truly cosmopolitan country. Fiji is very good at acknowledging religious holidays.    It only seems fair really, that we all benefit from each other’s festivals.  After all, we share Santa Claus with everyone. If the FSM ever gets a holiday we can share that too.  The nice thing is that no one insists that we share their beliefs as well as the holiday.  I have never had a Muslim, or a Hindu, or even a Pastafarian proselytising at my door.

About Uisce úr

Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done, The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun.
