Iambic Pentameter Day

I rode my motorcycle early, without licence

And parked it in the basement under work
Then taxied to the LTA head office
To fill out forms and pay requisite fees
My licence plate was issued without setback
I think on this with wonder and with awe
Returned I then apace to fit the number plate
With tools I brought with me to do just that
569E is ready now for riding.
No need to dodge the checkpoints on the road.

Throughout the day’s remainder I’m distracted
by thoughts of where I might ride and  explore
I’m ready now, with bike and pack and camera
To visit where I could not go before.

About Uisce úr

Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done, The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun.
